Before shipping, we will remove the plant from the pot and carefully clean it to ensure it arrives in the best possible condition.
What is Bucephalandra pygmaea 'Wavy Green'?
Bucephalandra 'Wavy Green' is a compact, slow-growing rhizome plant from the rivers of Borneo, prized by aquascapers for its glossy, wavy-edged green leaves. Like Anubias, it's an epiphyte — attach it to hardscape rather than burying the rhizome, and it will slowly spread into a lush, textured accent. Each plant arrives potted in rockwool, ready to plant or split.
Also known as 'Bukit Kelam' (Sintang) — sometimes sold as 'Green Wavy' or 'Wavy Leaf'.
Key Benefits for Your Aquarium
- Hardy and beginner-friendly: thrives in low to medium light with no CO2 required (though it grows a little faster with both).
- Shrimp- and fish-safe: a favourite in Caridina and Neocaridina tanks — the textured leaves collect biofilm for shrimp to graze on.
- Attach anywhere: tie or glue the rhizome to wood or rock for foreground and midground detail, or to fill gaps in your hardscape.
- Slow, tidy growth: stays compact and low-maintenance, rarely needing trimming.
- Easy to propagate: split the rhizome to spread it across your scape over time.
Care Guide

- CO2: not required (beneficial)
- Placement: attach rhizome to hardscape — do not bury it
