Bloody Mary OE (Red demon)- neocaridina davidi

The Bloody Mary Orange Eye (OE) "Red Demon" Shrimp is a highly desirable, selectively bred variety of the dwarf freshwater shrimp, Neocaridina davidi. It is celebrated for its unique combination of intense color and a rare genetic trait.

Coloration: These shrimp exhibit an exceptionally deep, vibrant red hue across their entire body. This red is typically more profound and rich than that of the standard Red Cherry or Red Sakura shrimp because the pigment resides primarily in the body tissue (flesh) rather than just the exoskeleton. High-grade specimens are fully opaque and solid red.

Defining Feature (OE): The most striking characteristic is the presence of Orange Eyes (OE). The normally dark or black compound eyes of Neocaridina shrimp are replaced by a bright, fiery orange or golden color. This contrast between the deep red body and the glowing orange eyes is what earned the shrimp its dramatic nickname, "Red Demon."

Size we sell: a mix of young juveniles approximately 1-1.2 cm in size. We may release larger shrimp, around 1.5cm, depending on stock availability.

Grades:

G1: The red color is extremely deep, dark, and solid (like velvet or paint) across the entire body, including the legs. The internal body tissue is completely masked.

G2: The red is solid in most areas, but may be slightly translucent or "patchy" on the underside or legs, especially in males. The color is bright red, but lacks the deep saturation of a premium specimen.

Temperature: 22-23 °C. We use no heaters; only room temperature.

Neocaridina shrimp thrive in most tap water conditions, provided a quality dechlorinator is used to neutralize chlorine and chloramines before introduction.
