Feeding Guide

A simple feeding structure using Suksai Complete, Lubao, DSP 2, and DSF helps support stable shrimp colonies, consistent growth, and natural grazing behaviour.

How to use the system

01

Build around a staple

Use Suksai Complete or DSF as the regular foundation for daily Caridina and Neocaridina feeding.

02

Add a long-form grazing pouch

Use Lubao as a 30 days grazing bag to support biofilm development and provide supplemental grazing between normal feedings.

Use DSP 2 as microbial support.

03

Keep feeding controlled

Adjust portions slowly based on colony size, leftovers, and actual feeding response.

Suksai Complete

Daily staple

Suksai Complete

A complete, fully natural shrimp food made for the daily nutritional needs of Caridina and Neocaridina. Designed as the main staple in your regular feeding routine.

  • complete daily food
  • for Caridina and Neocaridina
  • natural ingredients and probiotics
  • small-batch handmade production

Use as your core staple food. Feed in small portions and increase only as colony demand grows.

Lubao

30 days grazing bag

Lubao

A microbial grazing pouch for freshwater aquariums, filled with nutrient-rich materials that support beneficial biofilm and green dust algae growth for shrimp to graze on over time.

  • 30 days grazing support
  • supports biofilm development
  • supplements feeding between meals
  • helps aquarium startup and maturity

Lubao is not a full replacement for complete shrimp food. Use it as a long-form grazing support inside the full feeding system.

DSP 2

Microbial support

DSP 2

A premium microbial support product positioned around biofilm growth, healthy molting, colony maintenance, and support during cycling or upkeep.

  • supports biofilm
  • healthy molting support
  • cycling and maintenance use
  • microbial formula

Use as a support product within the system, especially where biofilm and maintenance support are part of the goal.

DSF

Daily support formula

DSF

A premium Taiwanese daily formula for Caridina and Neocaridina that supports healthy growth, coloration, vitality, and a more complete daily feeding structure.

  • daily formula
  • supports growth
  • supports coloration
  • 30g and 50g sizes

Works well as part of a broader feeding structure where staple consistency and colony health are both priorities.

Example weekly feeding timeline

A simple sample routine you can adjust based on colony size, tank maturity, and how quickly food is consumed.

  1. Day 1

    Suksai Complete

Use a small staple portion as your main feeding base.

  2. Day 3

    Dead Shrimp Food

Use a small staple portion as your main feeding base.

  3. Day 5

    Lubao

Keep Lubao in the tank as a grazing support while continuing controlled feeding.

Lubao can be kept in the tank up to 30 days.

  4. Day 7

    Review and adjust

Check feeding response, leftovers, and increase only if the colony clearly needs more.

Colony size feeding estimator

This is a simple starting-point guide. Always adjust based on actual shrimp activity, leftover food, and water quality.

Small colony

Suggested feeding structure

Enter colony size to estimate feeding frequency.

DSP dosage and supplemental feeding details will appear here.

Adjust based on leftovers, tank maturity, and shrimp activity.

Lubao: ·
DSP: 1 spoon per 40L at water change

Starter estimate only. Mature tanks with strong grazing surfaces may need less, while dense breeding colonies may need more frequent feeding.

Common feeding questions

A few simple answers to help keep the feeding routine clean, practical, and easy to adjust.

How often should I feed shrimp?

It depends on colony size, tank maturity, and natural biofilm availability. Small colonies may only need feeding a few times per week, while larger colonies often require much more consistent feeding.

Can shrimp be overfed?

Yes. Overfeeding can harm water quality. It is usually better to start light and increase gradually rather than feeding too much at once.

Why use more than one food?

A mixed feeding structure helps create variety, supports different feeding moments, and gives you a more flexible routine as colonies grow.

Is Lubao a full replacement for staple feeding?

No. They work best as part of the overall system to support grazing and feeding variety between regular staple feedings.
